When a five-star alpine property in Vorarlberg needed to furnish a full refurbishment of its restaurant, library bar and 42 suites, they came to Haus of Bavaria rather than three importers and a Paris broker.
Working from a single brief — cobalt rim, bone-white body, dishwasher durability to commercial standards — Claudia Reiter's sourcing desk in Munich visited nine workshops over four days, sampling clay bodies and decals in person. Eighteen weeks later the first two hundred place settings arrived at our Lafayette Street receiving room, were inspected by the maker's provenance team, repacked in archival crating, and routed by dedicated freight to Austria on the Zurich-bound rail.
The full order, including custom-engraved menu holders, came in across four staggered deliveries between March and November 2023, each one room-of-placed, unpacked and inspected by our white-glove crews in-country. Every piece carries a Maker's Provenance Card and remains enrolled in our lifetime chip-and-crack repair program at the Munich atelier — usable to the property today.

Claudia's team treated our relaunch less like a sale and more like an heirloom commission. The cobalt-rim porcelain has now seen three seasons of full-house service — and Haus of Bavaria replaced two chipped plates inside a week, no invoice, no questions. That is the standard we measure every other supplier against.
Trade Programs
Each trade vertical has its own contract terms, minimums and lead times — but the same sourcing team, the same atelier pricing, and the same lifetime repair guarantee.

From brief to bedside table
Four stages, each owned by a named specialist. The same workflow carries a 200-piece tasting menu and a 1,860-piece hotel refurbishment — only the calendar stretches.
I
Week 1–3
A 60-minute intake call with the trade concierge covers the property, the room count, the timeline and the aesthetic frame. Within ten business days Claudia or a Munich-based sourcing specialist visits between two and six ateliers in person, returning with clay bodies, decals and provenance notes for sign-off.
You receive: a sourcing dossier with maker profiles, sample swatches, indicative pricing and a draft delivery schedule.
II
Week 3–9
The chosen workshops fire first articles — typically four place settings per pattern, plus one off-body of any custom decal or rim. We ship them to your property (or to our Lafayette Street showroom) for tabletop testing against your linens, lighting and dishwasher cycle. Revisions are batched into a single second firing to protect the lead time.
You receive: signed-off first articles, written Maker's Provenance Cards and a fixed-price trade contract.
III
Week 9–20
Production runs at the workshops under our standing partnership terms — multi-generational makers, no mass production lines. Each piece is fired, glazed, inspected, signed by the maker and matched to its provenance card by our Munich atelier team. We hold stock at our bonded receiving room in Lafayette Street until your delivery windows are confirmed.
You receive: production photographs from each atelier and a draft white-glove delivery calendar.
IV
Week 20 onward
Cratings leave our floor on climate-controlled rail to a bonded forwarder in-country, then onto our own white-glove crews — or one of three approved partners — for room-of-choice placement, unboxing, surface inspection and removal of all packaging. Every piece is now enrolled in the Munich atelier's lifetime chip-and-crack repair program; 94% of pieces returned by customers since 2017 have been restored to original condition.
You receive: delivered, unpacked and verified pieces plus a single point of contact for repair, replacement and replenishment.
